Stone Countertops
For Every Style
Compare quartz, granite, marble, quartzite, and porcelain for your room. Coordinate product selection, templating, fabrication, and installation with the surrounding renovation work.
Plan your countertop replacement from support to final connections
A successful countertop project starts below the slab. Before selecting a surface, check the condition, level and support of the cabinets. If you are keeping existing cabinets, discuss their suitability before committing to fabrication. A new countertop should be coordinated with the sink, faucet, appliances, backsplash and any plumbing or electrical changes.
Compare materials by how you use the room
Quartz, granite, quartzite, marble and porcelain differ in finish, pattern, maintenance and fabrication requirements. Compare actual samples or slabs rather than names alone. Follow the selected product's care guidance; heat protection, cleaning products and sealing requirements are not interchangeable across every material.
Confirm the details before templating
Sink specifications, faucet holes, appliance dimensions, edge profiles, overhangs and seam placement affect fabrication. Cabinets need to be in their final position and ready for measurement. Ask how sink cutouts, supports and backsplash transitions will be handled, and confirm any changes before material is cut.
Understand the full quotation
Compare material, measurement, fabrication, edge work, sink cutouts, removal, disposal, installation and reconnection responsibilities. Square-foot prices alone do not describe the whole project. Access, slab yield, complex shapes and supporting repairs can affect the total. We discuss your selected material and actual scope before confirming pricing.
Sequence the surrounding work
Removal may affect the backsplash, wall finish or sink plumbing. Establish who disconnects and reconnects fixtures and how long the kitchen will be unavailable. If cabinets need repair or adjustment, complete that work before final templating. Schedule surrounding tile and paint work around the installation plan.
Countertop project questions
Can I replace the countertop and keep my cabinets?
That depends on cabinet condition, support and your long-term plans. We can assess the layout with you. If the cabinets are likely to be replaced soon, coordinating both projects may avoid paying twice for removal or fabrication.
How long will the project take?
Selection, slab availability, site preparation, templating, fabrication and installation have separate lead times. Ask for a schedule tied to your chosen product and scope, including any sink reconnection and backsplash work.
What should I prepare for a consultation?
Bring a rough sketch, photos, approximate dimensions and sink/appliance information. These help the initial discussion; fabrication must use verified measurements and approved specifications.
